Reed Education is dedicated to providing Whole School Recruitment to Secondary Schools across Wyre & Fylde, Cumbria & Lancashire. We are currently seeking a dynamic English Teacher to join a school in Lancaster starting in February. This long-term position is ideal for someone with a robust knowledge of the English curriculum and a passion for creating an engaging learning environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver engaging and effective English lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels; experience with KS5 is advantageous.
- Utilise strong subject knowledge to inspire and motivate students.
- Maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.
- Assess, monitor, support and record student progress.
- Collaborate with other teaching staff to plan and coordinate lessons.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Recent relevant experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4; KS5 is desirable.
- Excellent classroom management skills and subject knowledge.
- Reliable, committed, and capable of demonstrating the qualities of a good role model such as compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills; must be trustworthy, punctual, patient, and confident when working with children.
