The Role
This is a commercially focused procurement role responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services across a multi-site operation.
You’ll play a key role in delivering cost savings, improving supplier performance, and driving procurement best practice across both regional and site-level operations. The position offers strong exposure to operational stakeholders and the opportunity to influence strategic sourcing decisions in a complex, asset-intensive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure goods, materials, and services in line with business requirements.
- Manage the full purchase order lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Partner with operational teams to manage demand planning and stock availability.
- Lead sourcing activities including RFx processes, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.
- Manage spend across OPEX, consumables, services, and selected CapEx & MRO categories.
- Support supplier consolidation and regional tendering initiatives.
- Work closely with site teams to optimise inventory levels and reduce excess stock.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple operational sites.
- Improve contract compliance and reduce off-contract spend.
- Monitor supplier performance and manage ongoing commercial relationships.
- Use data and analytics to support decision-making and drive procurement performance.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and governance frameworks.
- Track and report on savings, spend under management, and key procurement KPIs.
About You
- 4–8 years’ experience in procurement or strategic sourcing roles
- Experience within waste management, recycling, utilities, logistics, manufacturing, or other heavy industries with heavy machinery and MRO categories is highly desirable
- Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Confident working in multi-site, decentralised environments
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Degree qualified (or equivalent experience); CIPS (or equivalent) desirable
