We are currently working with a well-established food manufacturing business in the Bedale area that is looking to recruit a Hygiene Operative to join its team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high hygiene standards and enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment.

The Role

As a Hygiene Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring that production machinery, equipment and factory areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and food safety. You will work across a variety of production areas and play a key role in maintaining a safe and hygienic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean production areas, machinery and equipment in line with Cleaning Instruction Cards (CICs).
  • Clean factory areas including walls, ceilings, floors, drains, windows and communal areas.
  • Clean and sanitise production equipment, packaging areas, waste bins and welfare facilities.
  • Ensure chemicals are handled, diluted and stored correctly in accordance with COSHH regulations and company procedures.
  • Wear the appropriate PPE and report any incidents or concerns immediately.
  • Complete and maintain daily, weekly and annual cleaning schedules and hygiene records.
  • Assist in ensuring all production and communal areas are maintained to the highest hygienic standards at all times.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience within a hygiene, cleaning or food production environment (preferred).
  • Understand the importance of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Be reliable, hardworking and have excellent attention to detail.
  • Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Performance in this role will be measured through hygiene verification, swabbing and cleaning validation results, ensuring consistently high standards are maintained throughout the facility.

Shift Pattern

  • Nights: 18:00 – 06:00
  • Working pattern: 4 on, 2 off rotating shift pattern, operating seven days per week.
