Job Title: Vehicle Builders.
Location: Kings Heath Depot, Northampton.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm (50 hours per week)
Rates: £18.68 PAYE £23.83 Umbrella (pre 12 weeks) £25.11 Umbrella (post 12 weeks)
Duration: Ongoing (long-term contract)
Company Summary: Working for a leading global provider of mobility solutions across urban, interurban and freight transportation sectors.
Position Summary: This role is based at a newly refurbished depot in Northampton, supporting large-scale overhaul projects. You will be part of a team of Vehicle Builders responsible for refitting and modernising the interiors of train carriages.
Key Responsibilities: Stripping and preparing vehicles for repair work Cutting and fitting materials to precise measurements Installing components such as panels, flooring, carpets and seating using materials including wood, metal, composites, sealants and adhesives Assembling, fitting and finishing interior and exterior features Using Siemens systems/software to input data and access VMI information Removing and refitting windows
Person Profile: Previous experience as a Vehicle Builder, Coachbuilder, Carpenter or Shop Fitter Willingness to learn new skills and attend training courses NVQ Level 3 in a relevant engineering or woodworking discipline (desirable) Ideally experience within rolling stock or vehicle interiors
