Location: Bury Council (Greater Manchester)
Pay Rate: £40.00 per hour
Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing
Are you an expert CWD practitioner ready to step away from standard casework and into a pivotal leadership role? Or are you an established Advanced Practitioner looking for a highly supportive authority that offers top-tier compensation?
Bury Council is seeking a powerhouse Advanced Practitioner to join their specialized Children with Disabilities Team. Commanding a premium regional rate of £40.00 per hour, this role is designed for a high-caliber professional who can model outstanding clinical practice, mentor less experienced staff, and act as a cornerstone of quality assurance within the service.
The Role & Your Impact
As an Advanced Practitioner, you will perfectly balance expert clinical practice with formal team development and leadership:
-
Practice Champion: Model exemplary, strength-based statutory practice, taking on a highly focused, complex caseload that utilizes your advanced clinical judgment.
-
Mentorship & Development: Support the Team Manager by providing high-quality guidance, running reflective group supervision, and mentoring newly qualified social workers (ASYEs) and students.
-
Specialized CWD Assessments: Drive the execution of robust, holistic assessments that factor in complex medical, physical, and learning disabilities, ensuring packages of care are precisely tailored.
-
Quality Assurance: Lead on case file audits, champion service compliance, and ensure the unique voice and communication methods of every child are embedded in their care plans.
What We Need From You
Because this is a senior leadership position within a specialist service, the hiring managers require a proven track record of statutory success:
-
The Essentials: A recognized Social Work degree and an active registration with Social Work England.
-
Statutory Pedigree: A minimum of 3 years' post-qualifying social work experience explicitly held within a UK Local Authority Children's Social Care setting.
-
Specialist Knowledge: Recent, direct experience working within a dedicated Children with Disabilities (CWD) team. You must thoroughly understand the unique legal frameworks, funding panels, and safeguarding dynamics specific to disabled children.
-
Leadership Drive: The confidence to lead, challenge practice constructively, and step up to support the team's overarching development.
Why Choose Bury Council?
-
Premium Earning Power: A top-market rate of £40.00 per hour, reflecting your senior status and specialist skillset.
-
