Semi Senior Accountant
Salary: Up to £30,000 + Study Support
Location: Derbyshire
Type: Full Time, Permanent
A well-established and growing accountancy practice is seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join its friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to further develop their career within practice, working with a varied portfolio of clients whilst receiving ongoing training and professional development support.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities and work closely with experienced professionals in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of statutory accounts for a variety of clients
- Assisting with the management of a client portfolio
- Preparation of management accounts
- Bookkeeping duties and maintenance of client records
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Preparation of personal and partnership tax returns
- Supporting client queries and building strong client relationships
- Attending client meetings and liaising with business owners where appropriate
- Assisting with the development and support of junior team members
- General practice and administrative duties as required
About You
- At least 2-3 years' experience within an accountancy practice environment
- Currently studying towards AAT, ACA or ACCA, or qualified by relevant degree
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach to client interaction
- Proactive, self-motivated and eager to continue developing professionally
- Experience with cloud-based accounting software would be advantageous
