Buying Admin Assistant
£27,000 – £28,000 + great benefits | Full-time, Office-based | Mon–Fri, 8.30am–5pm
Are you a recent graduate or someone with a genuine interest in Buying, Purchasing, or Supply Chain, looking to kick-start your career? This could be the role for you.
Set in a beautiful rural location, our client is a true market leader in its sector. It's a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities shift quickly and demanding clients keep the team on its toes — but there's a strong social side to balance the pace, with a genuinely close-knit office culture.
We're looking for a Buying Admin Assistant to support a 5-person Buying Team. This is an entry-level role, ideal for someone who has studied Buying, Purchasing, Supply Chain, or a related subject — or who otherwise has some knowledge of the buying process and is keen to build a long-term career in this area.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting the Buying Team on products going direct to retail for shelf and on-floor displays
- Checking pre/post-production samples for flaws and feeding back to the factory
- Assisting with instructing the factory on product spec for manufacturing
- Booking testing and inspections with 3rd party testing houses
- Liaising with suppliers to obtain accurate quotes for customers
- Working closely with the Head of Procurement to support the smooth running of the buying department
- Emailing and liaising with suppliers daily
- Accurately raising purchase orders and placing them with suppliers across the UK, Europe, and Far East
- Working with Sales and Design teams to keep planned orders on track
- Liaising with 3rd party logistics/warehouses to ensure timely deliveries
- Monitoring deliveries through Customs clearance
- Maintaining shipping and product trackers
- Checking artwork against ingredient lists and safety data sheets
What we're looking for:
- Entry-level — ideal for a graduate or someone who has studied Buying, Purchasing, Supply Chain, or a related field, or has some exposure to buying
- A genuine passion for Buying, with a keen desire to build a career in this area
- Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and the wider MS Office suite
- Excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach
- Good communication skills and a team player
- Eager to learn, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
What's in it for you: a genuine opportunity to grow with an ambitious, market-leading company, hands-on exposure across the buying process from day one, and a supportive team culture in a business that knows how to work hard and have fun doing it.
