Stirling Warrington
Maintenance Manager
Chesterfield £65,000 Benefits
Why Join?
The Factory Manager has been with the business for a couple of years and has already made a strong impact. They're ambitious, supportive and looking for someone who shares that drive to improve and develop the site.
Alongside a salary of £65,000, you'll also receive:
- Monday to Friday working hours (8am–5pm) with flexibility
- 23 days holiday plus bank holidays
- 5% pension contribution
- Employee discount scheme
- Healthcare after 6 months
- Access to a well-funded training academy
- Genuine long-term progression opportunities within a larger international group
This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit back and keep things ticking over.
We're looking for a Maintenance Manager who can bring energy, positivity and direction to a team that's ready for a fresh start. Someone who enjoys getting people on board, building relationships and creating an environment where people want to come to work and do a good job.
You'll be joining a busy 24/7 manufacturing site in Chesterfield with around 120 employees, in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. There are plenty of challenges to get stuck into, but also a huge opportunity to make a real difference.
Reporting directly to the Factory Manager, you'll have full responsibility for the maintenance function. This is very much a leadership role rather than a hands-on engineering position. You'll be setting the direction, developing your team, improving processes and helping move the department from reactive to proactive.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Leading and developing the maintenance team, creating a positive and accountable culture.
- Building engagement and morale within the department.
- Supporting and coaching your direct reports to help them grow and succeed.
- Driving continuous improvement projects across the site.
- Bringing structure and focus back to preventative maintenance activities.
- Working closely with production and other departments to improve reliability and performance.
- Identifying recurring issues and implementing long-term solutions rather than quick fixes.
- Helping the maintenance function play a key role in delivering site performance targets.
You'll manage a team of 16 people through two direct reports:
- Maintenance Supervisor
- Maintenance Coordinator
The wider team includes 12 Engineers, a Facilities Engineer and an Apprentice.
Who We're Looking For:
We're not overly concerned about qualifications.
What matters most is finding the right person.
You'll be someone who naturally builds relationships, earns trust and gets the best out of people. You'll have experience leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment and know what good looks like when it comes to reliability, planning and continuous improvement.
Most importantly, you'll be the type of leader who sees challenges as opportunities and enjoys taking people on the journey with you.
You'll likely have experience with:
- Leading maintenance teams and departments within manufacturing.
- Managing managers and developing leadership capability.
- Continuous improvement and reliability-focused maintenance.
- TPM, PPM, CBM and RCM methodologies.
- CMMS systems (SAP experience would be a bonus).
- Delivering operational and maintenance KPIs.
- Stores management and stock control oversight.
If you're the kind of leader who can bring people together, create momentum and build a maintenance function that people are proud to be part of, get in touch with Josh Sharkey from Stirling Warrington
