Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager in leading, managing and motivating the nursery team to deliver high-quality early years care and education.
  • Assist with the smooth day-to-day operation of the 60-place setting, ensuring high standards across all rooms.
  • Help ensure full compliance with the EYFS statutory framework, safeguarding procedures, health and safety requirements and Ofsted standards.
  • Act as a positive role model, promoting a professional, supportive and child-centred team culture.
  • Support staff rotas, ratios, room organisation, supervisions and ongoing training needs.
  • Monitor the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, helping children make good progress.
  • Build positive relationships with parents, carers and external professionals.
  • Support occupancy, enquiries, show-rounds and the overall smooth running of the nursery.
  • Maintain accurate records, policies and procedures in line with statutory and company requirements.
  • Help promote a safe, inclusive and engaging environment where children feel secure, valued and inspired.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Room Leader or senior early years practitioner.
  • Minimum Level 3 childcare qualification, with higher qualifications desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted expectations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • A warm, approachable and professional manner with children, families and colleagues.
  • Confident supporting a busy nursery environment, including staffing, compliance and parent partnerships.
  • A genuine passion for high-quality early years education and continuous improvement.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary of £30,000 per annum.
  • Full-time, permanent role in a well-established 60-place nursery.
  • Supportive working environment with opportunities for professional development.
  • The chance to support and help shape a committed early years team.
  • A rewarding role where you can make a meaningful impact on children's lives and learning.
