As we continue to grow, we're looking for an exceptional Chef to lead the kitchen at our iconic brewery venue. If you're passionate about great food, local produce, and creating memorable dining experiences, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
Food is at the heart of the Black Sheep experience, and we're seeking a talented, hands-on Chef to take our kitchen to the next level.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape and develop a food offering that celebrates Yorkshire produce, complements our award-winning beers, and keeps quality pub dining at its core. You'll have the creative freedom to develop seasonal menus, including dishes inspired by and infused with our own craft beers, while leading a passionate team and maintaining the highest standards across the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
Dish Creation & Innovation
- Design and deliver fresh, seasonal dishes that showcase quality ingredients and pair perfectly with our beers.
- Develop exciting specials and event menus that enhance the brewery and taproom experience.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing kitchen team.
- Recruit, train, and mentor chefs, creating a positive and supportive working culture.
Kitchen Management
- Take responsibility for kitchen operations, including stock control, food costs and GP targets.
- Ensure exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation at all times.
Compliance & Standards
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety compliance.
- Ensure all kitchen systems and processes run efficiently and effectively.
Collaboration & Guest Experience
- Work closely with the brewery, bar, and front-of-house teams to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
- Support brewery events, beer launches, and special occasions with creative food offerings.
About You
- Proven experience in a busy kitchen.
- Passion for quality food, seasonal ingredients, and traditional pub dining with a modern twist.
- Commercially minded, with experience managing food costs.
- Organised, hands-on, and driven by high standards.
- A genuine enthusiasm for craft beer, Yorkshire heritage, and hospitality.
