Experienced Teaching Assistant – Primary School

September 2026 Start | Full-Time | £100 per day PAYE
Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Lewisham, seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm, supporting pupils across the primary age range. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping children achieve their full potential both academically and socially within a positive learning environment.
The Role:
- Full-time Teaching Assistant position
- September 2026 start
- Working hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
- Supporting teaching and learning across the primary curriculum
- Providing targeted support to individuals and small groups
- Assisting with classroom management and pupil engagement
- Working closely with class teachers and the wider school team

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school setting
- A strong understanding of the primary curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive and positive approach to supporting children's learning
- The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents
- A genuine passion for education and helping children succeed
Salary and Benefits:
- £100 per day PAYE
- Pay increase after 12 weeks of successful placement
- Full-time role running until July 2027 (end of the academic year)
- Potential opportunity to continue with the school from September 2027
