A respected and expanding firm is seeking an experienced Employment Law Solicitor (3+ PQE) to join their growing team in Chelmsford. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, commercially minded solicitor who enjoys a mix of claimant and respondent work and wants to play a key role in developing a thriving department. The Role
You’ll handle a varied and stimulating caseload, advising both individuals and businesses across the full spectrum of employment law. Your work will include:
- Advising individuals on complex employment issues and achieving the best possible outcomes
- Managing matters such as unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, whistleblowing and contractual disputes
- Drafting and negotiating Settlement Agreements
- Supporting employer clients (from start-ups to established SMEs) with day-to-day HR and employment law queries
- Drafting and reviewing contracts, handbooks and policies
- Providing clear, practical advice in plain English
- Attending networking events, building relationships and helping grow the department
- Writing articles, contributing to marketing content and representing the firm at business events
This is a client-facing role where your communication skills, commercial awareness and legal expertise will shine.

- Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5.30pm

About You
To be considered, you will need:
- 3+ years PQE as an Employment Solicitor
- Strong technical knowledge of employment law
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly
- A commercial mindset and confidence in advising both individuals and employers
- A proactive, positive approach to business development
