A leading high-frequency trading firm is launching a new London office and is seeking an experienced buy-side trader to play a key role in establishing and scaling its European trading presence.
This is a front-office, hands-on trading role with direct ownership of risk and P&L, offering significant autonomy within a well-capitalised, technology-driven platform.
The Role
- Run and grow a profitable trading book within a high-frequency or low-latency environment
- Trade Delta-1 products, ETFs, futures, and/or options , with a strong focus on intraday opportunities
- Actively manage execution and risk in real time, adapting strategies to evolving market conditions
- Work closely with quantitative researchers and engineers to enhance execution logic and trading performance
- Contribute to the build-out of the London office , helping shape trading processes and market coverage
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience as a buy-side trader with a consistent, demonstrable P&L track record
- Background in high-frequency trading, market making, or systematic execution within a proprietary trading firm or hedge fund
- Strong understanding of intraday dynamics, order flow, and market microstructure
- Proven ability to design, refine, and execute quantitative trading strategies in fast-moving markets
- Comfortable in a hands-on trading seat — this is not a pure research role
- Familiarity with Python or C++ is a plus; ability to work closely with developers and quants is essential
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a pragmatic, execution-focused approach and collaborative spirit
