Quality Control Inspector

Futures

Our client a well known family run manufacturing business based in Barnsley is looking to recruit a proactive Quality Control Inspector. This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring products meet quality standards throughout the manufacturing process, carrying out final inspections, and working closely with production teams to resolve quality issues before products are released to customers.

We're looking for someone who is confident working in a fast-paced production environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is comfortable communicating with colleagues across the business to drive continuous improvement.

The Role

  • Conduct in-process inspections throughout the manufacturing flow to ensure products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.
  • Perform final (last-off) inspections before product release, ensuring all quality requirements have been met.
  • Identify non-conformances and accurately record inspection findings.
  • Investigate quality issues using root cause analysis techniques to determine underlying causes rather than treating symptoms.
  • Support and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), ensuring issues are effectively resolved and do not reoccur.
  • Liaise directly with production operators, team leaders and supervisors to communicate quality concerns and agree practical solutions.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes and highlight trends or recurring issues that could impact quality or efficiency.
  • Ensure inspection equipment is used correctly and maintained in accordance with calibration requirements.
  • Complete quality documentation accurately and maintain traceable inspection records.
  • Participate in internal quality investigations and continuous improvement activities.
  • Promote a culture of quality across the manufacturing operation.

Essential

  • Previous experience as a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience carrying out in-process and final inspections.
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles and inspection techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience using measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, height gauges and other inspection tools.
  • Good problem-solving skills with experience of root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Confident communicating with production teams to resolve quality concerns in a positive and collaborative manner.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent using Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
