A leading chemical manufacturing company seeking a proactive and safety-focused Yard Marshall to join our busy Transport Department at our Port Clarence site. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV professional with ADR knowledge to play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant movement of vehicles and trailers across our operation.
Working Monday to Friday, you will be at the heart of all of their transport activities, supporting drivers, maintaining site safety standards, and helping to optimise fleet movements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor the parking and positioning of tractors and trailers across the Port Clarence site.
- Support the efficient turnaround of company and contract drivers collecting loaded trailers.
- Assist in reducing loading overtime activities at our Seal Sands operation.
- Act as the first point of contact for drivers commencing their shifts.
- Promote safe, efficient, and compliant working practices in line with transport legislation and company procedures.
- Monitor yard activities and report any non-conformities or safety concerns to the Transport Team.
- Ensure site safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and changes during shunting operations.
- Pre-load backloads as directed by the Transport Office.
- Support continuous operational improvement and effective communication between transport teams and drivers.
What We're Looking For
- Essential Requirements
- HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
ADR Qualification.
- Strong understanding of ADR regulations and transport compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, drivers, contractors, and site personnel.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach to safety and operational efficiency.
