Qualified SEN Tutor – Outreach (Kensington & Chelsea)
About the Opportunity
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Specialist Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to young people across Kensington & Chelsea. You will provide tailored support in Maths and English, working with learners who may be out of school due to a range of additional needs. The role requires a patient, adaptable tutor who can create structured, engaging sessions that rebuild confidence and promote steady academic progress.
Tuition is typically 10-15 hours per week, delivered in the home or community. Many pupils have experienced disrupted education, so the ability to differentiate, build rapport, and create a safe, supportive learning environment is essential. Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to monitor progress and ensure each learner receives consistent, high-quality support.
Contract / Position Details
- Location – Kensington & Chelsea
- Position – SEN Tutor (Maths & English)
- Type of Work – 1:1 outreach tuition
- Start Date – ASAP
- Duration – Ongoing, dependent on student needs
- Contract Type – Temporary
- Hours – Approximately 10-15 hours per week
- Rate of Pay – From £25 per hour
Experience, Training and Qualifications
- Teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent) – essential
- Strong experience supporting pupils with SEN
- Ability to deliver Maths and English at an appropriate level
- Minimum 6 months' experience in a UK school or tuition setting
- Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (desirable)
To Be Eligible for This Role, You Must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
- Provide two professional references covering the last two years
