CNC Turning Setter/Operator

£18.50 per hour + Productivity Bonus + Overtime | Permanent | Day Shift | Early Finish Every Friday

Are you an experienced CNC Turning Setter/Operator looking for a secure, long-term opportunity with a well-established precision engineering business?

The Role

You'll be responsible for setting and operating CNC turning centres with Fanuc controls, producing high-precision components from billets and castings while working to tight tolerances and maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC turning centres with Fanuc controls.
  • Manufacture precision-engineered components from billets and castings.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Machine a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Select appropriate tooling and cutting tools.
  • Monitor machining processes and make adjustments where required.
  • Inspect finished components using micrometers, verniers, gauges and CMM equipment.
  • Work to production targets while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Follow health & safety procedures and maintain an organised work area.

About You

You'll ideally have:

  • A recognised apprenticeship or significant experience as a CNC Turner.
  • Proven experience setting and operating CNC lathes.
  • Experience working with Fanuc controls.
  • The ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Experience machining precision components.
  • Confidence using precision measuring equipment.
  • A proactive attitude with excellent attention to detail.

Experience with CNC programming and CMM inspection equipment would be advantageous but is not essential.

What's on Offer?

  • £18.50 per hour
  • 39-hour working week
  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am-4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:00am-3:30pm – enjoy an early finish every week!
  • Overtime paid at 1.25x hourly rate.
  • Productivity bonus (currently averaging 6%, with the opportunity to earn 10%+).
