Crossreach
Do you enjoy art, creativity and helping others? Heart for Art brings people living with dementia together to enjoy conversation, creativity and connection through art. We are looking for a friendly and compassionate volunteer to support our weekly art sessions and help create a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued, included and encouraged to express themselves.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in your local community. Through creative activities, conversation and encouragement, you'll help participants build confidence, explore their ideas and enjoy meaningful social connections. Sometimes, something as simple as a smile can make the world of difference to someone's day.
What You'll Do
- Support adults living with dementia during art sessions.
- Encourage creativity, self-expression and participation.
- Build positive relationships through conversation and companionship.
- Help create a relaxed, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
- Assist with setting up and tidying away art materials.
- Work alongside our staff team and art tutor to deliver enjoyable and engaging sessions.
About You
You don't need to be an artist to make a difference. We're looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, patient and compassionate.
- A good listener with a positive attitude.
- Reliable and willing to get involved.
- Interested in arts, crafts, creativity or community activities.
- Keen to support people living with dementia.
While an interest in art is beneficial, no formal qualifications or previous experience are required. What matters most is your ability to encourage others and help people feel supported and included.
What You'll Gain
- The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in your community.
- Experience supporting a creative wellbeing project.
- Full induction and ongoing support.
- Training, including dementia awareness and safeguarding.
- The chance to meet new people and develop new skills.
A PVG check for working with protected adults and two references will be required before you begin volunteering.
If you're ready to use your time, creativity and kindness to make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and help bring conversation, creativity and connection to people living with dementia through Heart for Art.
