The Opportunity
Working as part of a collaborative HR function, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across both legal and business services teams. Combining strategic business partnering with hands-on HR delivery, you will play a key role in shaping people strategy, enhancing manager capability, and fostering a high-performing, engaged workforce.
This is a broad, varied role offering significant exposure to employee relations, leadership coaching, organisational development, employee engagement, and global HR initiatives, making it ideal for an experienced HR Manager looking to further develop their career in a dynamic professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leaders to deliver commercially focused HR solutions aligned to business objectives.
- Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, workplace investigations, and performance management.
- Coach and develop managers to strengthen leadership capability and confidence in managing people.
- Build strong relationships across legal and business services teams, acting as a trusted HR advisor.
- Use people data and workforce insights to support strategic decision-making and identify trends.
- Support employee engagement and retention initiatives to enhance the overall employee experience.
- Coordinate leadership development and management training programmes.
- Ensure HR policies and practices remain compliant with employment legislation and best practice.
- Contribute to wider HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
This opportunity will suit someone who brings:
- Proven experience as an HR Manager, Senior HR Advisor, or Senior HR Business Partner within a law firm or professional services organisation.
- Significant experience managing complex employee relations cases from investigation through to resolution.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience coaching and influencing managers and senior stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- A commercial mindset with the ability to balance business needs with pragmatic HR advice.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using HR data to support decision-making.
- Excellent communication, judgement, and organisational skills.
Experience of supporting partnership structures or international professional services organisations would be advantageous.
