The Role
As Head of Mathematics, you will:
- Lead, develop and manage the Mathematics department.
- Drive high standards of teaching, learning and student attainment.
- Support, mentor and develop teaching staff within the department.
- Oversee curriculum planning, assessment and departmental improvement strategies.
- Promote a positive and ambitious learning culture for all students.
- Monitor performance and implement effective interventions to maximise outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a candidate who has:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Extensive experience teaching Mathematics within a UK secondary school setting.
- Previous leadership experience within a curriculum area or department (Head of Department, Second in Department, Key Stage Lead or similar experience is advantageous).
- A strong understanding of the secondary Mathematics curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A passion for raising standards and improving student outcomes.
- Access to a car is desirable due to the school's location.
