We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced HGV Driver Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training programmes to aspiring drivers. Responsibilities
- Deliver specialised training sessions for HGV drivers, focusing on driving techniques, safety protocols, and industry best practices
- Provide practical instruction in preparation for driving tests
- Assess trainee progress through practical evaluations
- Develop customised training programmes tailored to individual learning needs and company requirements
- Keep accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and competency levels
- Stay updated with current legislation, safety standards, and industry developments related to HGV driving
- Support trainees in preparing for licensing examinations and certification processes
- Maintain a safe training environment adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Qualifications
- Valid HGV licence with a clean driving record
- Previous experience in driver training or instructing is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and educate diverse learners
- Knowledge of current road safety legislation and industry standards
- Organised with the ability to plan training sessions effectively
- A recognised qualification in driver training or equivalent is advantageous
