Senior Software Engineer – hx Renew / Pricing

Are you an experienced Software Engineer with expertise in Hyperexponential's hx Renew or similar Insurance Pricing, Rating, Actuarial, or Underwriting platforms?
Our client is looking for a talented engineer to join their growing technology team, where you'll play a key role in delivering modern pricing solutions while helping drive the evolution of their insurance technology landscape.

The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for supporting and enhancing the hx Renew pricing platform while assisting with the transition away from a legacy ratings platform. You'll work closely with technical and business stakeholders to design, develop and deliver robust software solutions that support critical insurance pricing capabilities.
You'll also provide technical leadership across the engineering team, helping to shape best practices and mentor less experienced developers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, test and deploy high-quality software solutions.
- Support and enhance the Hyperexponential hx Renew pricing platform.
- Assist with the migration from a legacy insurance rating system.
- Work closely with business users and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Lead technical discussions across multiple systems and development teams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers.
- Troubleshoot, debug and resolve complex production issues.
- Contribute to software architecture, engineering standards and best practices.
- Monitor application health and implement improvements where required.
- Research emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
- Collaborate within Agile delivery teams to deliver business-critical projects.
Skills & Experience
We're particularly interested in candidates with experience of Hyperexponential hx Renew or comparable insurance pricing technology.
You'll ideally have experience with:
- Hyperexponential hx Renew or similar Insurance Pricing, Rating, Underwriting or Actuarial platforms.
- Strong Python development experience, ideally within insurance pricing.
- Experience with C# .Net would be beneficial
- RESTful APIs and JSON.
- Automated testing frameworks such as NUnit, Selenium, Jest, Jasmine, Mocha or similar.
- CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and configuration management tools.
- Delivering scalable, maintainable enterprise software.
- Working within Agile development environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration abilities.
- Previous experience mentoring or providing technical leadership to development teams.
