We are working with a well-established manufacturing and logistics company in Poole who are looking for a Manufacturing Operative, Production Operative, Assembler, or Packer to join their growing team. This is a permanent position with a supportive local business where your woodworking and assembly skills will be valued.
About the Role
You will play a key role in the production process, focusing on the manufacture, production and packing of high-quality wooden cases and crates for customers. This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in precision and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembling and packing wooden cases and crates accurately and efficiently
- Using hand and power tools to cut, shape, and prepare wooden components
- Shrink wrapping, palletising, and boxing products for dispatch
- Operating mechanical handling equipment for loading and unloading
- Maintaining workshop cleanliness and supporting general maintenance
- Occasionally assisting with deliveries and collections
- Supporting the Production Manager with daily production tasks
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Practical experience using hand or power tools, machinery, or workshop equipment
- Experience working with wood, timber, or wooden assemblies
- Comfortable in a manufacturing, assembly, or warehouse environment
- Full UK Driving Licence (manual)
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a production operative, packing operative, assembler, or case maker
- Forklift licence (counterbalance)
Personal Qualities:
- Reliable, flexible, and adaptable to changing workloads
- Comfortable with physical and manual tasks
- Team player with a proactive, “can-do” attitude
