Part time HR Administrator

Hays are working on an exclusive basis with an excellent organisation who are working on behalf of a well-established organisation to recruit an experienced and highly organised HR Administrator to join a busy People Team. This role will play a key part in delivering an efficient, accurate, and professional HR administration service across the business. Supporting the full employee lifecycle, you will ensure HR processes, records, and systems are maintained to a high standard while providing excellent support to employees, managers, and the wider HR team. This position would suit a strong administrator with excellent attention to detail, outstanding organisational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Your new role

  • Act as a first point of contact for HR-related enquiries, responding appropriately or escalating where necessary.
  • Support the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring compliance with company procedures and legal requirements.
  • Prepare and issue offer letters, contracts of employment, and new starter documentation.
  • Complete Right to Work checks and ensure documentation is maintained accurately.
  • Conduct DBS checks and renewals in line with company policy.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities and support induction processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
  • Process contractual changes and employee lifecycle documentation.
  • Administer flexible working applications and other employee requests.
  • Manage employee leavers and ensure all associated administration is completed.
  • Process maternity, paternity, parental leave, jury service, and other statutory leave requirements.
  • Respond to employment reference requests.
  • Administer employee benefits and reward schemes.
  • Coordinate long service awards, recognition programmes, and employee initiatives.
  • Monitor sickness absence records and escalate concerns where appropriate.
  • Support training administration and learning and development activities.
  • Produce regular and ad hoc HR reports.
  • Ensure HR records remain up to date and compliant.
  • Support continuous improvement activities within the HR function.
  • Maintain process documentation and procedural records.
  • Process invoices and liaise with internal departments as required.
  • Assist with general administration duties and additional projects as requested.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous administration experience, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using databases, systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing workloads.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous HR Administration experience.
  • Experience working with HR systems.
  • Knowledge of employee lifecycle administration.
  • Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding activities.
  • CIPD Level 3 qualification or working towards.
