Description
- Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with accounting standards, specifically US GAAP.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for the department.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax filings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights and analysis.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes.
- Contribute to process improvements within the Accounting & Finance department.
Profile
A successful Financial Accountant should have:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accountancy qualification eg ICAS, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and regulations, specifically US GAAP – this is a non negotiable.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a temporary role within a fast-paced environment.
Job Offer
- Daily rate between £300 and £350, depending on experience.
- Temporary position within the life science industry, based in Edinburgh.
