The firm's Patent Litigation team is widely regarded as one of the UK's leading practices, acting for an impressive portfolio of global clients across a range of innovative industries. You will join a highly respected team working on complex, high value patent litigation matters, with a particular focus on the technology and telecommunications sectors. The role offers exposure to major multi-jurisdictional disputes, working alongside recognised leaders in the field on cutting edge matters for some of the world's most innovative businesses. This is an excellent opportunity to develop technical expertise whilst taking on meaningful responsibility and building strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload of patent litigation matters under partner supervision.
- Assisting on complex, high value UK and cross border patent disputes.
- Advising clients on contentious intellectual property matters, with a focus on technology and telecommunications.
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, expert evidence and court documents.
- Supporting advocacy preparation, hearings and trial strategy.
- Conducting legal and technical research on complex patent issues.
- Working closely with clients, experts, counsel and overseas advisers.
- Contributing to business development initiatives and maintaining strong client relationships.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with between 2 and 4 years' post qualification experience.
- Experience handling patent litigation matters gained at a recognised private practice.
- Strong academic background with excellent analytical and drafting skills.
- Experience advising clients within the technology, telecommunications or other innovative sectors would be advantageous.
- A STEM degree, particularly in Physics or Engineering, would be highly advantageous, although this is not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with a genuine interest in developing a long term career in patent litigation.
