Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Cardiff City Centre)

Start Date: September 2026
Pay: £92.63 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full-time, with potential for a permanent position

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a dedicated, patient, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in the heart of Cardiff.

This rewarding role involves supporting teachers with day-to-day classroom activities, helping pupils engage with their learning, and providing additional one-to-one support for children when required. You will become part of a passionate and supportive school team that is committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

Whether you have previous experience working with children or are looking to take your first step into education, we would love to hear from you. While experience is desirable, it is not essential, we value enthusiasm, commitment, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Bring confidence, positivity, and strong behaviour management skills to the classroom.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff, helping to maintain a supportive learning environment.
  • Support the class teacher effectively by following guidance and using initiative when required.
  • Demonstrate experience working with children, either professionally, through volunteering, or in a personal capacity.
  • Show patience, adaptability, and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community.

Essential Requirements:

  • Enhanced Child-Only DBS certificate (Teaching Personnel can assist with this process).
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
  • Two professional references.
  • For non-UK residents, an Overseas Criminal Clearance (OCC) certificate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
