Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established accountancy practice in central London to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team within a growing practice, where you will work with a varied client portfolio and play a key role in delivering high-quality bookkeeping and financial support services.
Your key responsibilities as the Bookkeeper:
- Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across a range of industries.
- Processing purchase and sales ledgers accurately and efficiently.
- Bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Assisting with month-end reporting and management accounts preparation.
- Maintaining accurate financial records for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Liaising with clients to resolve queries and ensure smooth financial processes.
- Supporting accountants and senior team members with ad hoc duties as required.
To be considered for this Bookkeeper role, you will require:
- Previous experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally within an accountancy practice.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and VAT regulations.
- Confident using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple client deadlines.
