Data Protection Compliance Support Officer

- Daily Rate: Up to £190 per day
We are currently seeking a Data Protection Compliance Support Officer on a temporary basis. This role is crucial for managing increased demand, progressing priority compliance work, and maintaining clear oversight of risks, deadlines, and outstanding actions.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Office-based in West Croydon on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; remote working on Tuesday and Thursday.
- Track, log, and progress routine Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), data sharing agreements, supplier due diligence, Freedom of Information (FOI) matters, Subject Access Request (SAR) administration, and data incidents.
- Monitor the data protection inbox and update trackers to ensure accurate case records.
- Maintain clear audit trails of deadlines, next steps, and escalation points.
- Support wider compliance activities, including privacy notices, Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), policy updates, training coordination, and Data Champion support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing and completing DPIAs, including tracking actions, risks, and approvals.
- Strong understanding of UK GDPR and the Freedom of Information Act 2000, with practical application experience.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Confident in handling sensitive information securely.
- Strong communication and record-keeping abilities.
- Ability to work independently on routine tasks and escalate complex or high-risk issues appropriately.
Ways of Working:
- You will work under the direction of the Head of Data Protection, using established templates, trackers, and escalation processes.
- Work will be prioritised based on operational needs, with complex or high-risk matters referred for appropriate oversight.
