Learning Support Assistant – Primary School

£90–£100 per day (depending on experience)

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in South Leeds for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking to make a positive impact on children's educational journey.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to pupils across the primary age range. You may be supporting children on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, or within the classroom setting to help them access learning and reach their individual goals. This is a full time, long term position to start in September.
Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
- Assisting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging learning activities.
- Providing targeted support for children with additional learning needs and SEND.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a nurturing learning environment.
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Supporting children during lessons, break times and school activities where required.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare or educational setting.
- A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
