Job Title: Logistics Manager
Salary: Up to 50K + Benefits
Location: London (5 Days on site)
Start date: ASAP
Reporting to: Head of Product & Planning
Are you experienced in automotive supply chain and logistics, with a strong grasp of how to keep vehicles moving efficiently from factory to forecourt? This role offers the chance to take ownership of the full UK supply chain for a fast-growing manufacturer, managing everything from shipping partners and port operations through to dealer delivery and stock control. You will sit at the centre of the business, working closely with Product, Sales, Finance and IT to ensure the network has the right vehicles, at the right time, in the right place. From improving logistics systems and managing complex supplier relationships to driving cost efficiencies and supporting new model launches, this is a hands-on, high impact role where your planning, organisation and commercial judgement will directly influence sales performance and customer delivery.
- Managing contractual relationships with shipping agents, Port of Entry and delivery companies, ensuring contracts are in place and KPIs are met
- Working with Finance and Legal to ensure all tax and legislative requirements are met
- Developing IT infrastructure between the factory and Dealer Network to improve delivery accuracy and functionality
- Leading supply chain operations to ensure vehicle availability, stock control and effective ageing policies
- Identifying opportunities to improve service levels and reduce contractor costs
- Supporting development of new facilities aligned with business growth
- Delivering central stocking to optimise vehicle availability for sale
Supply Chain Management:
- Lead the VOD team to ensure dealer queries are handled within agreed SLAs
- Ensure timely vehicle availability to support dealer sales and profit targets
- Work with the Product team to manage vehicle run-out and new launches, ensuring milestones are met
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet overall supply requirements
- Work with IT to improve customer-facing logistics systems
- Manage and monitor supply chain KPIs
- Support development of new facilities with partners
- Develop and implement aged stock policies across storage locations
- Manage communications on supply status, including backorders and production constraints
- Support Sales Operations with monthly production order meetings
- Provide reporting and insight on stock levels, lead times and vehicle coverage
- Support forecasting activities to ensure correct model and powertrain availability
Personal Specification:
- Experience in logistics planning with strong analytical and organisational skills
- Strong numerical ability and good PC skills
- Confident presentation skills
- Knowledge of import taxation and international legislative requirements
- Strong project management and analytical capability
- Experience managing budgets and controlling costs
- Flexible approach to a broad range of responsibilities
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Automotive industry experience preferred
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
