JR327: Generator Field Service Engineer
Location: Manchester/Liverpool
Salary: £33,750 – £40,000 Per Annum + Progression + Bonus + Overtime + Company Vehicle
Overview:
First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to support a growing South East operation, carrying out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a fleet of rental generators. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high levels of customer service while working both independently and alongside internal teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel generators.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs on rental generators, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
- Conduct site surveys to assess customer requirements and maintenance needs.
- Participate in the on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support when required.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring company vehicles and work areas are clean, safe, and well organised.
- Comply with company quality, environmental, energy management, and health & safety procedures.
- Deliver excellent customer service while building positive working relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the success of the engineering team.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, Plant Maintenance, or a similar discipline (e.g. City & Guilds or BTEC), or completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- Proven experience servicing and repairing generator sets, particularly FG Wilson, Cummins, or similar equipment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Previous experience in a field service engineering role is advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- ECS, CSCS or CCNSG card is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
