Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 + Bonus (DOE)
Location: Hybrid Working (2-3 days office/home)

We're looking for an experienced Court of Protection Solicitor to help lead and develop our expanding Court of Protection department. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with experience in Deputyship, Property & Affairs, Personal Injury Trusts or Professional Deputy work who is looking to take the next step in their career.

You'll work with clients who have received significant Personal Injury or Clinical Negligence compensation awards, helping to safeguard their financial future while leading and supporting a collaborative team.

The Role

As a Court of Protection Solicitor, you'll manage your own varied caseload while helping to supervise and develop junior members of the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of DeputyshipProperty & Affairs Deputyship and Trustee matters
  • Advising clients before and after settlement of Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence claims
  • Preparing and managing Court of Protection applications
  • Supporting vulnerable clients, families and carers throughout the deputyship process
  • Visiting clients at home, in hospital and in residential or nursing care settings
  • Preparing annual Deputyship accounts, budgets and expenditure forecasts
  • Working closely with independent financial advisers, case managers and other professionals
  • Managing investments and financial arrangements on behalf of protected parties
  • Supervising junior solicitors, paralegals and fee earners
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring across the department
  • Conducting regular supervision meetings and appraisals
  • Attending conferences with Counsel, client meetings and Court hearings where required
  • Contributing to business development, networking, training and thought leadership

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
  • Experience managing Court of Protection Deputyship matters
  • Strong knowledge of Property & Affairs Deputyships
  • Experience dealing with Personal Injury and/or Clinical Negligence compensation awards
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues (desirable)
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and financial management skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable clients
