Job Title: Maintenance Technicians Job Location: Derby Hourly Rate: £20.73 PAYE / £27.69 Umbrella 20lHours Per Week: 45hrs minimum Duration: 6 months+ Start Date: July 2026

Position Summary: To undertake maintenance activities and redelivery repairs on a variety of rolling stock vehicles (Diesel Multiple Units (DMU)) in accordance with maintenance procedures and specifications.
Key Responsibilities: * Carry out planned and corrective maintenance activities * Perform component inspections, assessments and exchanges as specified in the maintenance instructions. * Repairing oil and coolant leaks. * Renewal of fixings and fastenings. * Pipework repairs. * Vehicle decal replacement. * Component removal and replacement * Window replacement. * Interior component renewal and refurbishment. * Complete all work safely and in accordance with railway industry standards and company procedures. * Accurately complete all maintenance documentation, inspection records and sign-off sheets provided. * Identify defects and report any issues that fall outside the scope of the maintenance package. * Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping and safety within the depot. * Work collaboratively with personnel and other contractors to ensure work is completed within agreed timescales. * Comply with all depot rules, safety requirements and quality management procedure
Person Profile: * A minimum of five years' experience maintaining railway rolling stock. * Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience. * Proven experience carrying out fault finding, inspection, repair and component replacement on rail vehicles. * Experience of planned maintenance, heavy maintenance or overhaul activities. * Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) experience is highly desirable. * Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.
Education Level: * NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent is a requirement.
