Litigation Solicitor – Stoke-on-Trent

An established and forward-thinking law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Solicitor to join its growing Dispute Resolution team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor with experience in commercial litigation and civil dispute resolution who is looking to manage a varied caseload while contributing to the continued expansion of a successful department.

The successful candidate will advise a broad range of clients on complex and high-value disputes along with playing an active role in business development, building professional relationships and supporting the firm's long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

The Litigation Solicitor will be responsible for managing a broad range of contentious matters, including:

  • Commercial disputes, including shareholder, partnership and director disputes.
  • Commercial and residential property litigation.
  • Contractual disputes and breach of contract claims.
  • Professional negligence matters.
  • Debt recovery and enforcement proceedings.
  • Insolvency-related disputes.
  • Defamation claims.
  • Restrictive covenant and post-termination disputes.
  • Managing County Court and High Court litigation from initial instruction through to resolution.
  • Representing clients during negotiations, mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution where appropriate.
  • Advising clients on litigation strategy, legal risk and costs throughout the lifecycle of a matter.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships through the delivery of commercially focused legal advice.
  • Developing new business opportunities through networking, marketing initiatives and professional referrals.
  • Contributing to the mentoring and development of colleagues and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and exceptional client care.

About you

The ideal Litigation Solicitor will possess:

  • Experience managing a varied caseload of commercial and civil litigation matters.
  • Strong technical knowledge of dispute resolution and litigation procedures.
  • Experience handling County Court and High Court proceedings, including advocacy where appropriate.
  • A commercial approach to legal problem-solving and client advice.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
  • A proactive attitude towards business development and networking.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
