An outstanding secondary school in Upminster is seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and resilient SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team this September. This is a full-time, long-term position supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), with a strong potential to transition into a permanent contract for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to secondary school students with various SEN needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language difficulties).

  • Work closely with the class teachers and the SENDCo to implement tailored Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

  • Act as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, academic skills, and emotional resilience.

  • Foster an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements):

To be successful in this role, you must have transferable experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults. We are looking for candidates with experience as a:

  • SEN Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant

  • School Support Worker

  • Youth Worker / Mentor

  • Care / Support Worker (looking to transition into education)

Note: A patient, adaptable attitude and a genuine passion for supporting young people are absolutely essential.
