Senior Business Support Officer
- Pay Rate: £13.69 per hour PAYE

- Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (2 – 3 months)
Sheffield City Council are looking for a Senior Business Support Officer to join our Licensing Services team at the Staniforth Road Depot. This role is essential for providing comprehensive business, administrative, and customer service support within the Place Hub. The ideal candidate will be adept at processing various applications and documents, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and council policies.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Accurately process applications, records, documents, payments, and service information using relevant IT systems.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with agreed procedures, deadlines, and service priorities.
- Interpret and follow relevant legislation, council policies, and service guidance to support compliant and consistent decision-making.
- Maintain accurate records and uphold high standards of confidentiality.
- Respond professionally to enquiries from both internal and external customers.
- Work flexibly as part of a team to deliver an efficient, customer-focused service.
- Support the management of information systems and related procedures.
- Assist with the arrangement and documentation of meetings and events.
- Process orders and invoices, and manage petty cash and bank income.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in business support or administrative roles within a similar setting.
- Strong ability to use and maintain information systems and databases.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in IT applications for document production and data management.
- Effective communication skills, capable of handling telephone enquiries and personal callers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to understanding and serving diverse community needs.
