The role
As Maintenance Manager, you will take ownership of the site’s engineering maintenance function, leading teams and driving a step change in reliability, performance, and operational discipline.
This is a highly visible leadership role with a mandate to transform maintenance from reactive “firefighting” to a proactive, preventative, and data-driven model.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading all engineering maintenance activities to maximise equipment uptime and efficiency
- Developing and embedding robust planned preventative maintenance strategies
- Analysing performance data, KPIs, and downtime trends to drive continuous improvement
- Building structured planning, scheduling, and reporting processes
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Managing budgets, spare parts, and engineering resources effectively
- Leading, coaching, and developing a multi-skilled engineering team
- Driving a culture of accountability, engagement, and high performance
- Supporting major capital projects, automation initiatives, and operational improvements
Success in the role will be defined by improved asset performance, reduced downtime, stronger team capability, and a visible shift towards a proactive engineering culture
The candidate
We are looking for a strong, hands-on maintenance leader with the ability to deliver both operational results and cultural change within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will bring:
- Proven leadership experience within FMCG or high-volume manufacturing
- A strong background in maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement
- Experience implementing preventative maintenance strategies and data-led decision making
- The ability to analyse performance data and translate insights into tangible action
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing engineering teams
- Strong working knowledge of health & safety, compliance, and quality standards
- Experience managing budgets, resources, and performance metrics
