Audit Senior

Location: Doncaster, United Kingdom

Working Hours: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm (flexible arrangements available)

Salary: £38,000 – £50,000 per annum

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join a dynamic audit team. The successful candidate will lead audit engagements, manage junior staff, and ensure high-quality delivery for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and supervise audit engagements from start to finish, ensuring compliance with UK auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and mentor a team of auditors, providing guidance on technical issues, professional development, and effective work-allocation.
• Develop audit strategies, risk assessments, and audit programs tailored to each client’s business environment.
• Review and evaluate internal controls, financial statements, and supporting documentation to identify material misstatements.
• Communicate findings clearly to senior management and clients, preparing detailed audit reports and presenting recommendations for improvement.
• Maintain and enhance client relationships through proactive communication, timely delivery of services, and identification of cross-selling opportunities.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP) and regulatory updates (FRC, ICAEW).
• Assist in business development activities, including proposal preparation and participation in pitch meetings.

Essential Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of UK auditing standards, IFRS, and UK GAAP.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Proficient in audit software (e.g., CaseWare, IDEA) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.

Desired Experience

• Minimum 4–6 years of audit experience in a public practice environment, preferably with exposure to both SMEs and larger listed companies.
• Demonstrated experience leading audit teams and managing client relationships.
• Experience across a range of sectors such as financial services, manufacturing, retail, and technology is advantageous.
• Exposure to risk-based audit methodologies and internal control assessments.
