A well-established independent accountancy firm in Witney is looking for an experienced Audit Responsible Individual (RI) to take ownership of an established audit portfolio as part of a planned leadership transition.
One of the firm's existing Audit Directors is moving into a dedicated business development role, creating space for a senior audit professional to step into a key position with real influence over quality, people, systems and growth.
The role
You will be responsible for:
Taking ownership of a significant audit portfolio Acting as the main relationship lead for audit clients Driving audit quality, compliance and best practice Improving audit systems, processes and methodologies Mentoring, developing and strengthening the audit team Working closely with the leadership team on audit strategy Helping to grow the firm's audit presence in the market
This is a role for someone who wants more than file reviews, deadlines and being dragged into technical queries when everyone else has gone quiet.
It would suit an experienced RI who enjoys the technical side of audit, but also wants a genuine voice in how an audit department is run, developed and grown.
What they need
You must already hold RI status at your current firm.
You will also need:
ACA or ACCA qualification Significant UK accountancy practice audit experience Strong experience managing audit portfolios Experience leading and developing audit teams Strong FRS 102 audit knowledge A quality-focused, commercially minded approach
