SEN Teaching Assistant – Ringwood, Hampshire
Prospero Teaching are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join a Good Ofsted-rated Specialist School in Ringwood.
The school supports pupils aged 5-25 years with a range of complex needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Communication and Interaction Difficulties
- Severe and Complex Learning Disabilities
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs
- Behaviours That Challenge

Role Details
- Location: Ringwood, Hampshire
- Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract: Temporary or Permanent
- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Pay Rate: From £104 per day
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with autism, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs.
- Build positive relationships that promote confidence, wellbeing, and engagement.
- Assist pupils with emotional regulation, social interaction, and communication skills.
- Deliver creative, practical, and differentiated learning activities.
- Use calm, consistent, and trauma-informed approaches to support behaviour and learning.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams to provide holistic support.
- Support personal care needs where required.
Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable, particularly within SEN settings.
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Positive, patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
- Willingness to undertake personal care responsibilities when required.
Eligibility Requirements
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Two professional, child-related references.
