Junior Manufacturing Engineer (Kits & Components)About the Role
This is a hands-on engineering role offering the opportunity to gain experience across manufacturing, production planning, purchasing, inventory control, and continuous improvement. Working closely with production, warehouse and engineering teams, you'll help ensure components are available to support customer deliveries while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and use our ERP and manufacturing systems.
- Manage stock accuracy, inventory control and material flow.
- Purchase raw materials and components from approved suppliers.
- Build supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.
- Support barcode, traceability and quality control systems.
- Plan component availability using the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
- Identify material shortages and support production planning.
- Work with manufacturing teams to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Gain experience with laser cutting and press brake operations.
- Support continuous improvement, automation and process development.
- Assist with workload planning and ensure production schedules are achieved.
About You
We're looking for someone who is practical, organised and proactive, with an interest in manufacturing and engineering. You'll enjoy working on the shop floor, solving problems and improving processes. This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills in manufacturing engineering, supply chain, production planning and continuous improvement.
Package
- Salary: £28,400 per annum
- Hours: Monday-Thursday 6:00am-3:00pm, Friday 6:00am-11:00am
- Holiday: 24 days plus bank holidays (including Summer & Christmas shutdowns)
- Pension: Auto-enrolment (5% employee / 3% employer)
Full terms and start date will be confirmed with your employment contract.
