Cedar

Interim Procurement Manager

Location: London (Hybrid – 2 days per week)
Rate: £400-£450 per day (Outside IR35)
Contract: Initial 4 months

We are seeking an experienced Interim Procurement Manager to lead the mobilisation of two high-profile contracts within a fast-paced organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional with strong supplier transition and implementation experience to take ownership of two business-critical projects.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering the successful mobilisation of:

  • Travel Management Contract – Transition from the existing provider to a new supplier.
  • Events & Venue Management Contract – Mobilisation and implementation of a new supplier.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, you will manage both projects in parallel, ensuring successful implementation, strong governance and a seamless transition into business as usual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end mobilisation of both contracts.
  • Review and update the existing Travel Policy, ensuring it is fit for purpose and aligned with organisational requirements and, where appropriate, the wider organisational Travel Policy.
  • Develop and manage detailed mobilisation plans, including milestones, dependencies, governance, risks and mitigation actions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders and suppliers throughout the mobilisation process.
  • Coordinate staff engagement and communications, working closely with Internal Communications to keep colleagues informed.
  • Establish a network of business Super Users to provide first-line support during and after implementation.
  • Oversee the creation of user accounts within the new travel management system, coordinating the collection, validation and upload of user data.
  • Develop and implement a robust transition plan for existing and future travel bookings, ensuring business continuity throughout the change.
  • Coordinate supplier onboarding activities, including system configuration, testing and readiness assessments.
  • Develop and deliver training and user adoption plans ahead of implementation.
  • Monitor mobilisation progress, providing regular updates to the Head of Procurement and key stakeholders, escalating risks and issues where appropriate.
  • Lead the successful go-live of the new Travel Management Contract, providing hands-on support during implementation and the weeks immediately following launch.
  • In parallel, manage the mobilisation of the new Events & Venue Management Contract, ensuring both workstreams are delivered successfully.

About You

You will have:

  • Proven experience managing supplier transitions and mobilising outsourced service contracts.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience delivering supplier mobilisation, implementation planning and operational readiness activities.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Experience of travel management systems or corporate travel procurement would be advantageous.
  • Public sector procurement experience is desirable.
