Water Hygiene Technician – Inner London
A leading contractor is seeking an experienced Water Hygiene Technican to join its growing commercial maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career through ongoing training while working across a varied portfolio of commercial water hygiene contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Legionella compliance tasks on mains-fed and stored hot and cold water systems.
- Complete temperature monitoring, water sampling and cold water storage tank inspections.
- Clean and disinfect cold water storage tanks.
- Clean and descale showers and other outlets.
- Service Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs).
- Undertake minor plumbing repairs and remedial works.
- Submit accurate same-day reports using a PDA.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Work independently and as part of a team, responding to urgent tasks as required.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and report defective equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year's experience in a water hygiene role.
- Legionella Awareness qualification.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Desirable
- NVQ in Plumbing.
- Plumbing experience.
- Knowledge of ACoP L8, HSG274 and the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999.
- Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, Manual Handling or First Aid qualifications.
- Monday to Friday 8am – 5.30pm
- OOH rates paid at x 2 Basic Hourly Rate only
- ECO rates paid at x 2 Basic Hourly Rate Door to Door
- ECO rotation differs across workstreams, some as suggestion, other 1 in 4 week, some 4 on 4 off (this is contract specific and will be discussed at interview stages)
