Role: Logistics & Spares Procurement Coordinator (18-Month Maternity Cover)
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £37,000+ (DOE)
A growing engineering business is looking to appoint a Logistics & Spares Procurement Coordinator to join its Supply Chain team on an 18-month maternity cover contract.
This is a varied role combining international logistics coordination with procurement responsibilities. You'll be responsible for managing the end-to-end movement of goods across the UK and overseas, while ensuring spares and key components are procured efficiently to support production and customer delivery requirements. Working closely with suppliers, freight forwarders and internal stakeholders, you'll play a key role in keeping the supply chain running smoothly.

Key responsibilities
- Coordinate all inbound and outbound shipments across road, sea and air freight
- Manage international import and export activities, ensuring compliance with customs regulations
- Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers and packing providers to ensure on-time deliveries
- Prepare and manage all shipping and customs documentation
- Monitor freight performance, resolve delays and identify continuous improvement opportunities
- Raise and manage purchase orders for spares and selected components
- Maintain supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance against delivery, quality and cost
- Support RFQ processes and supplier evaluations
- Work closely with production and stores to ensure material availability
- Track logistics KPIs and contribute to ongoing supply chain improvements
About you
- Previous experience in a logistics, supply chain or procurement role
- Experience coordinating international imports and exports
- Strong understanding of customs processes and shipping documentation
- Experience using an ERP system such as Sage 200 or similar
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Able to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
