London Fire Brigade – Protective Equipment Group (PEG) Warehouse Technician

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) are seeking a Protective Equipment Group (PEG) Warehouse Technician to join the Brigade's Operations Support Group (OSG) at their facility in Croydon on a three-month temporary basis. This role is ideal for individuals with a technical background in engineering, servicing, and maintenance of equipment. The primary responsibility will be the testing of firefighter hoses, alongside other technical and administrative duties.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
- Equipment Maintenance: Testing of firefighter hoses
- Transport and Handling: Move, transport, and carry equipment within the Greater London area as required (full, clean UK driving license is essential)
- Record Keeping: Maintain and update both manual and computerised records relating to equipment and stores.
- Data Entry: Use computerised systems for inputting and retrieving information, and managing email communications.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical background, preferably in engineering or a related field.
- Experience in servicing and maintenance of technical equipment.
- Proficient in using computerised systems for data entry and information retrieval.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving license is essential.
