We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Service Advisor position at their well-established independent garage in Eastbourne, East Sussex. Duties of a Service Advisor:
- Act as the main point of contact for customers, delivering excellent customer service
- Upsell additional services and motoring solutions during customer interactions
- Communicate honestly and empathetically, particularly when conveying bad news
- Liaise with workshop staff, including technicians and service team members, to provide timely vehicle updates
- Manage customer bookings, scheduling, and workshop organisation
- Maintain accurate workshop management systems and documentation
- Uphold transparency and a proactive approach in a busy environment
- Support workshop colleagues and contribute to a positive team atmosphere
Requirements of a Service Advisor:
- Proven experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar role within the motor trade
- Good knowledge of automotive servicing procedures and customer expectations
- Ability to upsell and proactively suggest additional services
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, empathetic and confident in dealing with customers
- Well organised, with the capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Experience with workshop management systems (e.g., TechMan) is preferred but not essential
- Professional attitude and proactive approach to customer care
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a close-knit team
