We are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary / Conveyancing Assistant to join our client's team.
You will be joining a friendly and supportive team within a growing firm, where collaboration, reliability and initiative are highly valued.
You will play an important role in ensuring transactions are progressed efficiently while delivering a high standard of client care.
Responsibilities include:
- Audio typing and preparation of legal documents using digital dictation
- Producing accurate, well-presented correspondence and documentation
- Supporting fee earners
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and third parties
- Managing diaries, scheduling appointments and general administrative support
- Opening and closing client files and maintaining accurate records and filing systems
- Handling post-completion work, including SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications
- Preparing completion statements and assisting with completion processes
- Using case management systems effectively to maintain accurate and up-to-date records
- Providing support to other departments where required.
Experience required:
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in a conveyancing or legal secretarial role
- Solid understanding of the residential conveyancing process
- Experience handling post-completion matters, including Land Registry applications
Key Skills:
- Proactive, reliable and able to use initiative
- Fast and accurate audio typing (minimum 40 wpm)
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- High level of attention to detail, particularly when working under pressure
- Confident and professional communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Client-focused with a positive and professional approach
- Adaptable and flexible in a busy office environment
