Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting Learning Mentors to join a welcoming specialist school in Barnet, supporting pupils aged 4-15 with a range of additional learning needs, including Autism (ASC), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and other complex needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are patient, caring and passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with additional needs. Whether your background is in education, care, youth work or support work, this rewarding role offers the chance to help pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.
The Role
As a Learning Mentor, you will:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Work alongside teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning.
- Encourage communication, independence and confidence.
- Support pupils with classroom activities and daily routines.
- Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people.
- Has experience supporting pupils with SEND, Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Needs or learning difficulties (desirable).
- Is patient, compassionate and adaptable.
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Is committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one.
