A fantastic opportunity for an Indirect Tax Senior Manager has arisen in a high growth, acquisitive financial services business based in the City. You will have ownership over the international business (everything outside the US) and will report to the Head of Tax.
International compliance is managed locally and you would prepare the UK returns. The rest of the role is all advisory and project focused.
The role is very broad, but some key responsibilities include:
- Serve as the subject matter expert on VAT, advising on complex and high-value matters including cross-border transactions, new product offerings, recoverability, and business structuring
- Partner with Legal and Finance to ensure contractual arrangements are robust
- Oversee VAT compliance across the UK and multiple international jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency
- Lead indirect tax workstreams in ERP and tax engine implementations, including design, configuration, and testing.
- M&A projects to include due diligence, structuring, and post-acquisition integration.
You will need to be able to demonstrate to are self-sufficient and can work with autonomy. You will have had experience of working in financial services or insurance and have the versatility of being both hands on and providing advice to international units and the deals team.
